Have you had a down day lately? I have. I told the man in my life that if he is looking for me this weekend, I’ll be in my girl cave. Sometimes no matter how successful we are our confidence evaporates and we feel like losers. Things are not coming together; we are too attached to the outcome we desire and it’s just not happening.
I hate it.
Life happens
This past week I was licking my wounds because I feel I have had too many setbacks over the summer. I was sick for almost a month. I had visitors from oversees for weeks. My man’s mother shattered her pelvis in six places on the way to Zumba at the tender age of 84. Suddenly, the world is upside down. No matter what I wanted to achieve these past months, other issues had to take priority. And rightfully so. Self-care, family, friends, my social life.
Work isn’t everything, right?
I still hate it.
I feel I should be further than I am. That I should have pushed harder. (For those of you who know my work ethic, you know I push harder than anyone.) And, and, and…
I bet you know the story. I bet the same story plays in your head.
How could I have allowed this to happen to me?
My heart beats with compassion for women as we are finding our new place in this world while still pursuing the familiar work, relationships, children, and fun. My gosh, I am so ready for fun! This year has brought challenge after challenge. I want to shake it off and regain my footing.
I need to rebuild my confidence.
Build it and they will come
Positive self-talk is needed to accomplish big things. The universe is here to agree with us. If I feel like a loser, I create a self-fulfilling prophecy.
I feel down but I still have to somehow create positive thoughts. But how?
My saving grace right now is ironically more work. I am working on my complimentary master course called Your Business MC: More Clients, More Confidence, More Cash.
I am interviewing 12 of my friends and mentors who are each brilliant in their own way. Half are women and half are men. Leadership balance is my thing.
As I talk to the women I recognize the compassion we have for each other. Like Michelle Patterson who has gigantic goals of bringing women from all over the world together. How does she do that?
Or like the sensational Shalini Vadhera whose gold mask is all over Instagram. In our interview she shared what we can do when we feel that seething or slow-cooking anger. Her mission to make sure we look good on the outside and feel even better on the inside.
We are family
And suddenly I feel my confidence start to improve. I am not alone. My sisters are here. I don’t have to do this by myself.
And neither do you.
While I have created the online event primarily for Creative Entrepreneurs, I am inviting you to join us. You will meet some of my brilliant women who share so much of their inspirational personal journeys. Perhaps you need a small lift-me-up as well?
If the answer is yes, join us at YourBusinessMC.com
Sending you my love.
