If you want to see an amazing example of photography – an unusual combination of industrial, journalistic and documentary your click on the image above (link to Stephen Mallon’s website) is mandatory. What great pictures of the salvaging of Flight 1549 aka “The Miracle On The Hudson!” This is a story told to perfection. Just look at the images and no words are necessary.
You may remember that the photographer had been requested, forced, coerced into taking the images down. After a big debate he was able to get the rights to the images back.
Here is a quote posted from Stellazine:
“I’m absolutely thrilled,” said Mallon. “They realized how powerful the photos are, and I appreciate all the people who requested to see them. They’ve also granted rights to the crane company which is what I wanted in the first place. I’m thankful that it worked out perfectly fine.”
I am going to see if I can Stephen on the phone for another Free Teleseminar that I will open for everyone. I would love to hear what life is like on his end of photography. There has to be a good story there. Being at the right time at the right place can change your photography life.
Kudos to you Stephen for fighting successfully to get the rights to his own images back.
